I saw an Intel board for sale on ebay recently that says 440BX-2 on the box and I can't really find anything on 440BX-2 anywhere. What are the differences between 440BX and BX-2?

There is no 440BX-2 chipset, if that's what you're asking. That marking would probably be referring to the Intel SE440BX-2, a.k.a. Seattle 2. I believe the main difference between the SE440BX (Seattle 1) and SE440BX-2 is that the latter supports Coppermines. The audio chip may be different as well, although most of the ones you find don't have the onboard audio option anyhow. There's also a SE440BX-3, which was an OEM-only deal.
