Is it possible to replace 4 SGRAM chips on 3dfx velocity 100 to ones with double capacity to get a 16mb SGRAM Voodoo 3?

Probably not. The 16MB SGRAM versions had 8 chips and a different PCB.

It will probably cost you more to replace the ram chips then to buy a 16MiB Voodoo3.

V3 2000 PCI has 4 chips, that are identical to those i've just soldered to my Velocity (km4132g112q-6). The card isn't working now (beeps on POST). It possibly died during soldering, or just need another BIOS. Will see.
