Hi everyone.

I have an old Citygate 386 board not posting. Keyboard lights stay on & no post beeps. Sound like a cactus board?

So many combinations to make, so few cases to put them in.

My soldering skills aren't that good hahaha. Its not in a socket unfortunately.

I do suspect that traces have been damaged around the old Ni-Cd battery.

Get a HUGE magnifying glass, and / or take macro photos with a decent camera around the area. Also use vinegar to clean up and leftover acid.

Then check if any traces have been damaged.

I was planning on inspecting the traces closer. But I don't have a decent enough magnifier in my possession 🙁 At present its hard to tell if its corrosion or a broken trace. I did run a continuity test on some that "appear" to be straight-forward, but it was no dice.

Yes my eyes aren't that great either. I have one of these "magnifiers on your head" thingies. Works quite well for soldering.
