I bought last week a Roland MT-32.

It's sounds good with Sierra Games on my Atari ST.

I will connect it on my Vintage PC as soon as I receive my Midi/DB15 cable.

I use a sequencer (Sweet 16) to play midi files.
GM Midi files can be played with a MT-32 GM Patch... It can be good or not.

I heard some very good music from MT-32 but only recorded as MP3. I am looking for specific MT-32 .MID files (not from games, I know where to find 😎 )

Listen theses :

Oxygene sounds really good... but where is the MIDI file 😕 ?
or this one:

I know. So often there are posts from things that are easily Google'd. Still, it is a very nice site. Worth mentioning for anyone else that stumbles on this thread.

Some Roland MT-32 Midi files sounds great with nice SysEx programmation. Nevertheless such MIDI Files are really hard to find.

I found Only Jean Michel Jarre's Oxygene for General Midi not the one I mentionned for MT-32 😢

I second the comments about Quest Studios. Fantastic site, Mt-32 files available, and they even have arrangements for Sound Canvas and Yamaha XG.

EDIT

I forgot to mention that a lot of old sierra games used the extra patches in the LAPC-I. Worst case, you can load those in Munt, to get the tracks to play properly. There are certain tracks that used the buffer overflow in the original MT-32, so they can sound "off" on the second model MT-32.

I don't understand why everybody talks about Quest Studios when I talk about Roland MT-32...
Everybody with Google can find Quest Studios. Quest Studios offers only tracks from Sierra Games, Lucasfilm and some others.

I talk about japanese soundtrack for MT-32 (X68000 or PC98 Games) and .MID files that aren't game music.

Some MT-32 Midi and the same games again :

Some average MT-32 Midi :

Thank you! This time it worked. What a wonderful site. All can possibly want after visiting it is just more Roland MT-32 midi files.

Really nice Manual. Today I learned. "Roland Multi Timbre Sound Module can provide you with many years of musical enjoyment."

Indeed!
