I got a pretty nice Raptor GFX8P which is a well built 3DLabs Permedia2V PCI card. The problem is it wasn't made for PC, but SUN systems rather. It won't show anything during boot or under DOS, but does work in XP with default Permedia2 driver though. So I guess the card is PC compatible but the VGA BIOS is not.
I tried to reprogram the BIOS with something PC friendly, like BIOS's of FGL1000pro, L2300V, Gloria Synergy, but none of the BIOS programmers can write anything into that chip. Uniflash doesn't work either. Tried to load BIOS in a NIC card and no luck. So I guess the BIOS of that card is hardware protected.
