Hi,

I have broken Yamaha SW60XG - component EMI1 came off the board. I don't see a easy way to solder it again, so can somebody help me, if it is possible to replace it ? I think it is EMI filter (3 legs) with number 233, on +12V line, but could be special type. Or maybe I can shorter two power pins in place of EMI1 ? I checked EMI2, which is on +5V and it has two power pins (shorted) and ground. Without EMI1 now, there is no +12V on the card

I measured it, it is around 20nF, so capacitance would be 22nF. Probably, I could put capacitor instead of EMI filter and short two power line pins, but maybe replacement exist ?
I am afraid, poor repair will only bring more noise then no filter at all 😀
Any suggestions how to go are welcome.

Thread is not dead, but my card is 😠
Ok, on below photo, both filters EMI1 and EMI2 are visible.

They are three legs: power-ground-power. Left one is on on +5V, right one on +12V. They have both 223 label.
I guess, they could be especially design for Yamaha or even for this card. In audio systems, small differences can have big impact on signal quality.
I wonder what would happen if I just make jumper in place of this filter. Anyway, there are two capacitors on +12V line just next to EMI1.

The way I see it , these are just filters for the power lines. Bypassing them completely for testing purposes would be safe, at least you will find out if the card works or not or it has damage elsewhere.
