Nothing I've ever seen, and I would imagine it could have compatibility problems since it would require the machine to have USB drivers and such (which may be a problem with older OS). For a modern computer it really doesn't matter though - they don't need anything that comes off of FDD. Of course if you need to hook up an FDD, the USB route is probably cheapest and easiest. For older machines just go with internal drives - they're usually higher quality anyways.

I remember seeing an internal USB version of the GOTEK floppy emulator on eBay.

You could try taking an external drive apart and try to mount it in the casing of a busted internal drive.

I've bought this one, because my new motherboard doesn't have floppy connector and my old PC case (which I like) has dedicated (profiled) hole for floppy. Works as expected.
