Although the driver does have various user selectable optimisations in Direct3D and OpenGL. For example, the driver can be set for Quake 2 optimisation, DirectX games, DX5 games, etc. I wonder how much effect this has over a standard Permedia 3.

If TnL is of concern, go full weirdo and get Oxygen GVX1 PCI (don't ask me how).

It was hard enough obtaining the VX1 PCI (at a good price).

That is not necessarily a good sign. PowerVR PCX2 had game-specific setting, too.

ATI and NV also do game profiles but it's automatic.

The Kyro 2 REALLY EMPHASIZED the profile feature 🤣
