I know that 8088 and or XT systems doesnt have a bios setup.. These systems works with a switch block on the motherboard to set the right configuration.. For installing an harddisk your need to have a

8-bit MFM / RLL controller card / 8-BIT SCSI card / 8-BIT XT IDE CARD or an 8 BIT- IDE AT controller card..

The Headstart LX-CD actually has a built-in hard disk controller, since it came with a 40MB hard drive, and a spot for a replaceable clock battery. Again, I suspect I need a diagnosis disk to configure the settings for this computer entirely, which I don't have.

Tried everything out of it, but never got very far. My LX-CD does not like GSETUP.

Ask the guy in the URL above.. Does have the same system.

OH - You lucky, lucky bastard! 😀 I had a Headstart LX-CD back in the late 80's/early 90's. It made sense at the time to donate it to the middle school when it was time to upgrade, but in retrospect I wish we hadn't. I loved that machine, and am incredibly jealous of you right now, DoomGuy II.
