Ok new parts are on the way.

EVGA 7800GS
K6-3+ 450
Geforce 2 GTS

This should help out quite a bit for my retro rigs, and each part was 15 bucks on ebay 😁

well it seems they sent me a Geforce 2 Ultra not a GTS

Bonus!
I've still never held a GTS in my hands. I had an MX in the day, and by luck I got an Ultra in a bulk lot some years ago. The mainstream GTS has eluded me.

Is that 7800GS an AGP card? If so, $15 is an amazing deal for one of those.

So I got them both in, I was right they sent me an ultra not a GTS, but on another note my 7800GS works great.

I snooze I lose. I spent some time watching for a 7800GS AGP around maybe 6 months ago but they were too expensive for me. At one point I paid $20 for a 7600GS AGP that needed caps replaced. And I was happy with that deal. $15 for a working 7800GS is awesome.

Be happy with the ultra, they are much harder to find. Gts can be found for very litle money.

I bought my 7800gs agp for just 5 euro, never expected it would actualy work but it is in great shape 🤣

Dangit. That's the fear I have with buying old high end video cards, especially from the lead-free era. Oh well, at least it wasn't expensive.
I wish they were built to last long term, but gamers don't want to pay for that, they're happy if it lasts 1-2 years and doesn't make too much noise.
This is why I'm a bit of a cooling freak about graphics cards.

I think the oven trick is hard to pull off with any degree of accuracy. If I ever have the money burning a hole in my pocket, I'm tempted to get a hot air station someday.
