I'd try changing the IRQ and DMA that the YMF719 card is using. Try setting it to use IRQ 5 and DMA 0. If it fails, disable the parallel port and try IRQ 7. I have a card like this, and I remember having a much better time with lower IRQs

I can't set IRQ to 5 and DMA to 0, because it throws on me errors, like WSS I/O ERROR and SB CHECKSUM FAILED. But the IRQ 7 works even without disabling parallel port. But in the future I would want to use the parallel port.
And now the speakers are popping as hell.

Change the parallel port to another IRQ. Try putting it into IRQ5 and port 0x278 (typical addresses for the second parallel port). Also, see if you do not have other devices using IRQ5, as I find it weird that the card would throw errors like that.

From what i could read here and from your PM to me I could almost bet your YMF-71x card is faulty. Get a new one. You can buy them completely new on eBay still. Look for Yamaha Audician 32.

I have never had serious problems with these cards, but shit happens sometimes.

I don't think it is broken... At the end, in Windows 95 worked excellently. But there is issue in the freakin' driver for DOS. It runs great in Windows 3.11. Also LPT1 is fixed for 378.

Try 220h/IRQ5/DMA1 for SB, and move WSS to 530h, IRQ11 or 7, DMA 0 or 3.

Having SB on IRQ9 is non-standard and probably a bad idea. Anything on IRQ2 will also conflict with it. And I think the MPU401 port of YMF719 uses IRQ9 too regardless of what you specify in setupsa.

That's a resource conflict. Do you have a parallel port on IRQ5 perhaps? Try disabling anything that isn't absolutely necessary right now (LPT/COM ports) and pull out all expansion cards except the sound card. If that works, re-enable everything one by one to find the conflicting device.

And also, mouse is present, Genius MouseOne Serial 3B on COM1 (I was seeking for driver about a week, none worked, Microsoft universal driver worked). And other ports are disabled.

Does the sound card work in Windows 3.11? Looks like both SB and WSS are on IRQ7 in Windows.

(must say I didn't know MSD dumps the Win3 config files too)

Also try editing opl3sa.ini and setting 220/5/1 for SB, then run SETUPSA /S.

Yes, in Windows 3.11 works beautifully, even without back noises, but for example. in Wolfenstein 3d it plays only a half of sound-
I tried to edit it, but the setupsa still keeps setting it on SB IRQ 7

Even if you only run setupsa /s? Usually that won't complain about resource conflicts. May have to change both the ini and SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T4 beforehand.

It ought to work on IRQ 7 too though...

Wow, even that didn't help. It keeps setting it on IRQ 7...

edit: Well, actually now it works like in Windows, but with back hiss - like untuned television. And Wolf is playing only half of each sound.

Well, news. Sadly, bad. Commander Keen 5 crashed and spitted this:
img201ucu.jpg
The last line is something like Volkov manager, but smaller and in my opinion better.

Hiss/noise is a common complaint with the default settings. Try this for the SB mixer:
FM = 7
WAVE = 1
LINE = 0
CD = 0
MASTER = 7
MIC = 0
And set everything in WSS mixer to 0 (if you don't intend to use that). In 3D control:
Ymersion = 0
Mode = Hi-fi
Preset = Manual
Bass = 0
Treble = 0

Playing partial sounds might be a DMA conflict? Or possibly something to do with memory. Try EMM with NOEMS, or a 100% clean boot, might help.
I also noticed from your MSD report, total XMS memory is 4.5MB instead of 7MB, that seems odd. Are you using some ancient version of himem?

No, I grabbed DOS 6.22 on internet, writed it to floppy and installed it, nothing more, nothing less. But from that last screen I gained suspition that something is broken hardware-wise. Also, the applications are crashing randomly with no apparent reason.

You could still try some different memory managers. HimemX and Jemm386 are good IMO. Granted, I don't know if they'll work with windows 3.1.

Random crashing doesn't directly imply hardware failure under DOS... Usually you can blame the software side 😉
