I found this in a computer store. Looks to be from the late 90's to early 2000's. During a time when semi transparent colored plastic was all the rage.

I loved how silly it was so I bought it. it's never been used and was wondering what case it is. wondering if the "2000" on the cover slot is a hint or something.

it's transparent blue plastic. I like how it still has beige on it , as if making the front thing from transparent blue plastic would have been far too crazy.

Yeah, somebody went all aboard the iMac train there. Must be the late late 90's. Printing '2000' on it certainly would've been out of style by 2001. 😀

Yep, that has got to be 1997-2000, I do remember seeing these about during the initial iMAC era. Neat bit of history saved once again, well done 😀

Definitely around the '98-'01 era, I would say. As a couple of other people have mentioned, a lot of case and system makes tried to emulate the style of Apple's iMac around this time. Even eMachines hopped aboard that train!

what should I do with this case?

put a computer in it? new components or old? Leave it unsoild and don't touch it?

should I paint over just the beige? black/silver/blue maybe? I'll never paint over the clear blue obviously.

should i illuminate the panels with led strips?

Well clearly you need to keep the beige so that it retains its conflicting contrast. As for the guts, depends what you require. If you don't need an old computer throw in a Core i5 and make a steambox.

Whatever PC you decide to make it be, just be sure to add fans with obnoxious colored LEDs for added value. Oooh... and please do try to find a matching keyboard+mouse, it would be glorious.

I had to junk a case like that last year for missing some vital pieces. It really hurt on the inside when I did 🙁 It would have been for my "2000 junk P4 machine" with all the year 2000 stuff I owned and installed into for the ultimate turnofthemillenium experience, and right now it's in some beige case with no iMacesque roundness whatsoever.

I still love the color of the LPT ports.

Strange idea's they had back then. It's the apple effect one could say.
Personally I do not like this type of design.

My (then girlfriend, now ex-girlfriend) wanted everything like that.
Bowls, lamps, cups, anything and everything. I guess I just don't like it.

What to put inside?
Just slam some P4 era stuff with wacko colors inside it.
And max it out with neon/diode lights. For an ultimate sick-rig.

Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick....

I see what you did there 🤣

This has to be a Pentium 4 or Athlon machine. Personally I'd prefer Socket A.

P3s have to be in a beige case, IMO.

ok i got it narrowed down

The case shares the same chassis as the CSX600 Super Mid Tower , and the A800TX Midtower from aiyamicro.com. I found a pallet of 21 of them on ebay with mostly pentium 2 guts

You can't have the ultimate turnofthemillenium experience without Windows Me installed 🤣
