Hi,
I was thinking to look for a Geforce 4 MX 460 AGP and I would like to know your experience with it compared to the Geforce 2 Ultra and Radeon 7500.
Thank

It was faster that I remembered... I always thought comparable to the Ultra but I didn't remember it was clocked that high. Was the GPU a different process of the Geforce 2?

When you look at the data specifications on wiki, the GF4 MX460 has less MOperations/s, MPixels/s and MTextels/s than the GF2 GTS.
But you have to consider that the memory bandwidth of the MX460 (with 8.8 Gb/s) is 65% higher than the GTS (5.3 Gb/s).

The GF4 MX series have twice less the following units compared to the GF2 series: Pixel shaders, Texture mapping units and Render output units.

That is only one part, more important is that the GF4MX implements already LMA II (Lightspeed Memory Architecture II).

I didnt remember it. So technically we can't call it the fastest Dx7 card?

Here you have a quite good overview of the Geforce 4MX series against the GF3 Ti200, the Radeon 8500LE, the Radeon 7500 and finally the GF2 Ti which is between the GF2 GTS and the GF2 Ultra.
You have a lot of synthetic benchmarks but also game benches with 'Q3' and 'return to castle wolfenstein'.
What you can see is, that the higher the resolution, the better is the performance of MX460 against the GF2 Ti. Also with 32bit, the GF2 Ti has no chance.

It looks quiet fast in those benchmarks!
