I've been going through a batch of what I thought were socket 7 cpus I obtained a few years ago in a swap. Apart from the usual Pentium 1 non-MMXs, MMXs and K6/2s there are:
Cyrix MII 300GP
Cyrix 6x86L-PR200+GP
IBM 6x86MX PR233
ST 6x86 P166+
MediaGXm-200GP
I'm supposing that the Cyrix, IBM and ST processors are all related to each other and will possibly all work in a Gigabyte GA5AX and/or FIC PA-2013 [the two kinds of socket 7 board I have].
But what about the MediaGXm - I thought I saw that it needs a special motherboard, but does it need such to work at all or is it just to let its full capabilities be used?
