So in the 'box of trash' I recently bought (which I managed to get working, mostly) there was this Savage4 Pro with 16MB. I don't have one and I'm collecting early generation AGP cards but I nearly threw it away as it wasn't working even though it appeared to be in very good condition. Then I noticed the BIOS chip was missing. I'm so used to seeing empty sockets on Ethernet cards that it didn't even occur to me that there was something amiss.

Anyway, as it happens, I have a spare flash chip so I chucked it in and actually got a garbled picture. Progress. So, if i was able to get hold of the ROM from another card, would flashing it get it working again even if the card want identical? For reference the model number on the PCB is SP397R Ver: 2, while the model on the label is SP398/16MB. I've found no reference to this card any place else so I feel the chances of getting a match are slim.

Cheers in advance.
