Hello guys....
I'm just setting up my game/work space, there for I have 2 monitors, one 16x9 and one 3x4, and a total of 7 Computers connected to those two using 2 KVM switches (don't like emulating, want the real stuff). So far so good.
I've connected 3 Computers to the 16x9 monitor, one high-end game PC... well 7 years old but still capable of playing BF4, one whit a specialised Video Capture card, and a Low Powered Mobil C2D machine (only uses 80/90 Watts, the other game PC consumes about 400). And 4 machines to the 3x4 monitor, a Pentium 1; 3s; PowerMac G3 Beige and a MacMini, al of those a quite power economical.
Now there are some games that are to new for the Pentium 3s and to old for running widescreen. So I have to use the Low Powered Mobile C2D system. But my 16x9 screen is not displaying the games whit the right ratio. You know, you got an 800x600 game and every body looks Fat...
I'll tried to also connect the 3x4 monitor on the second DVI port of that machine, but even if the monitor is powerless, the computer activated both ports (oh I should mention that I have a kind of switch there to power-off the hardware I don't need).
Is there a software for, or display the game in aspect ration, (means that the output to the monitor is always the native resolution and the game is zoomed in but not mis-formed.) or forcing the use one display that is powered on, maybe whit a shortcut key.
Also thought about a kross-linked-KVM, so the output from the PC is connected to the output of the KVM and the both inputs are connected to the monitors (one directly and the other one on the KVM together whit the other two. But I don't know if it is working whit DVI.
