Im working on my "new" (I hope) DOS/Windows 98/lab machine. That machine is a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4340, and their tasks will be:

- Playing with DOS games (if sound works fine).
- Connecting to "legacy" things (i.e.: a Willem programmer, some serial devices and transferring data via diskettes to Amstrad CPC and ZX Spectrum computers).
- Some limited office and internet working (using Puppy Linux).

Every OS runs fine, but DOS makes the CPU hot very fast. I guess the cause is the CPU not executing HALT instructions to throttle down. So...

- AFAIK, Windows 98 don't do HALTs. There are some programs (i.e.: Rain, Wincooler) that do HALTs to help cooling CPU. I've installed some Toshiba Utilities, but I don't know if they do CPU throttling or HALT the CPU. How can I know if the CPU is throttling or at least HALTing?
- Are there any program like Wincooler for DOS? I would run it when not gaming (i.e.: editing text files, copying files from CD to HDD).

Thanks in advance.

I'm selling some stuff!

For Windows 9x, Search the Web for amnhltm

I tried it once but I can't remember if it worked or not.
