I got a box here I'm trying to build but I want to use one of the early Logitech mice with three buttons.

The machine I want to use it in doesn't have the ability to use serial mice within the OS (Tru64). Only PS/2. I know that little adapters existed for mice that supported PS/2 modes but what was available to let other serial mice connect to a computer with a PS/2 port?

I assume your serial port is tied up?

Why couldn't you add a second serial port, and use it?

Otherwise I'm sure a circuit could be built to convert the signals.

Edit: I'm an idiot. Read your whole post, now I get it. Sorry.

Just to add on it, the reason specifically I'm needing this mouse on a Tru64 machine is that the only reason the machine is even running Tru64 is so OpenGenera can run immediately upon login. Symbolics naturally used the same Logitech mouse with their later consoles. I might not have $5000 for a basic machine but if it LOOKS like I have one under the desk I'm satisfied.
