Hey all, I have a QDI V4P895P3/SMT V5.0 motherboard. Im trying to use a sx955 P24D dx2 chip, problem is if is close JP7 pins 1&2 for P24D WB mode the motherboard will not post, if I close JP7 pins 2&3 for P24D WT mode the motherboard posts just fine.

The motherboard also works fine with other 486 CPUS I also tried a standard sx911 chip and it worked just fine.
I used the motherboard pinouts from this page: http://www.elhvb.com/mboards/qdi/895p3s5.pdf

Anyone have any ideas? 😵

Most likely an outdated BIOS that doesn't recognise the CPU.
Check for an updated BIOS revision for your motherboard.

QDI's website seems to be long gone and no luck with google either. Oh well I guess..

A shame because I'm eager to see what this Enhanced 486 can actually do in games. WB L1 CPUs are a bit harder to find, yours is the only Intel DX2 66 I believe.

Ya they are a bit tough to find, found mine from a seller advertising it for gold scrapping. The pins were quite bent but I fixed those..I think I paid less than 10 usd for it. Motherboards are providing to be more of a PITA, the Asus 486SV2G0 only supports it with certain revisions and now this QDI board is refusing to work, Im beginning to wonder if its even worth it 😵

It seems someone with a similar board had the exact same issue a while back, but it went unsolved: 486 motherboard problem: QDI V4P895P3 / SMT V1.0 mobo won't POST in write back mode

Yes I saw that. Apparently some other problems happened along the way, too bad..
