Now we need a TNT2 M64 vs Banshee vs CL-GD5446 grudge match.

BTW, are you running the standard Doom test? If so, then 74690/584 realticks = 127.89 fps, which is much faster than the Banshee.

I'm running regular doom - registered version.

Hmmm.... Banshee vs. 5446 showdown!
That would make a nice video for youtube.

Which timedemo? In other words, what is the gameticks to calculate fps from 584 realticks?

The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.

Custom E1M1 run which kanecvr recorded himself, not the standard philscomputerlab doom benchmark test.
It is mentioned in the first post above the DOOM chart.

Thanks James. I remember reading that now. Was just confused when he gave results in realticks on the 5446 rather than fps. I thought I could do the math myself. 😀

Hi all,

Thanks a lot everyone for all the information here.

I've read a lot in the forum regarding recommended graphic cards for retro PC (mostly for DOS gaming) and came across this thread where some of you really praise the Voodoo Banshee. I collected new-old-stock hardware recently to build a retro rig and was looking to find a new-old-stock Banshee, but couldn't find any for sale. I almost ended up purchasing 2 pieces of used Voodoo 2, 12MB in SLI mode (PCI) from eBay, but eventually found (and I still can't believe that I'm writing this) a new-old-stock factory sealed Voodoo Banshee (AGP) on eBay! It wasn't cheap though - €199 + €77 for international shipping from Spain. But I decided to go for it anyway as it's a vintage item that is very hard to find new. Attached pictures of the item from the listing. This was distributed in Spain so the box is in Spanish.
