Nope...
Not with cache enabled/detected. My 5x86 is running on the board.
I actually do not know why, but that's ok, as I feel that a 5x86-133 is a bit too fast.
I will keep it as it is for now. Intel dx2-66, 16mb Parity ram.

For slower need's I have a 386sx33 with 387 co-processor and 4mb ram.
For even slower need's I have a 286 8/10-mhz with 640kb of ram.
And for faster, I have parts for a Pentium-133 or 166.

So you're running 5x86-133 at 5V?

If it's of any help, this is my old Rev C2 board configured for 256KB cache and 3.45V AMD 486DX4-100WB.

That CPU and two different i486dx2-66, one a486dx2-80 and an i486dx-33.
I might be doing something wrong, though I will test the other CPU's later.
Rught now, it is running good enough, with an i486dx2-66.

The manual does not state anything about what are the right pin's.
Is 1 towards the memory modules, or is 1 towards the tag?

Don't remember, but it's written on the board. Pull the jumpers off and carefully look under them and around the pins. I think pin 1 is near the tag cache socket.

Oh boy..... Do I feel stupid. I was looking at the pins with the jumpers on them. 😁

It is running, and I am satisfied with this. It feels like a snappy system. 😜

Just found one LS486E rev. C but sadly I can't get it to work, no beep 🙁

I can confirm that on my board the 33MHz setting is 5-6 (not 1-2 as in the manual). In my case jumper W2 was also missing (not mentioned in the manual) and it didn't boot without it.

Absolutely no beeps or display without setting those correctly, though setting the cache jumpers incorrectly didn't stop it POSTing for me.

3.3v chips work just fine for me. In my experience when they don't work it is because writeback is set incorrectly. Trace pin B13 of the ZIF socket to the jumpers with a multimeter. It may break out in more than one place, so look out for that.

(Also, on some boards pin C10 must be tied low with a jumper for the CPU to start up, though that is not relevant for this board, as it is correct in the manual.)

On mine, either 1-2 or 5-6 will produce 33MHz

Mine says that it is rev D. Are the big differences between the revisions? I have not noticed compatibility issues so far.

It is small size so it is usually the first motherboard I use when I need to check if a isa or pci card or a hard drive... etc works.
