I believe this bug describes the occurrence of when MIDI playback on a single note hangs. I have this Youtube video which appears to be having a hanging note at the very end of the sequence. Please tell me if I'm correct that this is indeed a hanging note bug.

Here is the video, regarding one of my favorite games to test MIDI playback with. Do any of you like my video? I'm hoping to keep my motivation in creating more videos like this if people have interest. Old sounds cards and MIDI playback are my favorite things about old computers. 😀

In my mind I would think the bug is caused by the sound card trying to play notes that are out of range for this particular cards playback capabilities. Is that right?

0:54 - There is a variation
1:18 - Fade out

Look, people here was so focused in this hanging notes bug so that I had to reproduce it
to listen with my own ears: You buy an SCB-55, play DOOM 2 for a while, and the next thing you hear
is the hanging note. Makes you cry !
That said, I got just a little impression something overslept at 1:16. Nothing to worry about.

The same here. I sometimes load games to listen to them. The same goes for graphics -If I can, I just stop there to admire.

On the video I noticed it hangs on a single note during the last few seconds of the MIDI piece.

Oh yes, rightly so! If theres any redeeming quality about boring childhood games, it has to be the game music! The music used in MSB Human Body is the perfect fit for a horror movie. Especially the way it sounds on the prehistoric Soundblaster 16 FM synthesis. It becomes a whole new level of creepy. You should check out the Esophagus one, if you dare...

If I can (if I am not being attacked, running against time, etc...)

You are talking to a guy who played "Academic Monkey", supposed to teach you math. I will challenge any
kind of game (and lose). 😀

That's why i said: something overslept at 1:16 (lasted a little longer), but this kind of fade out is a common
behaviour in FM music.

Just my humble opinion.
I was just trying to notice some pattern in this music. I am not a guru, just a MIDI freak.

I appreciate your desire to thoroughly search for patterns in music. That is what it's all about - enjoying every last bit of it. 😀
