Hi.
Mobo: Tyan S1668D
CPU: Pentium II Overdrive 333Mhz X2
RAM: 8x32MB EDO (60ns).

First run with memtest just to be sure that everything works - 114MB/s. I know that simms are not very fast but I expected more... Should I? I have run this three times, AVG speed is about this 114MB/s.

Ok, so time to go into BIOS and change some settings. I have changed everything to "high" or "fast", tighter timings. Memtest - 59MB/s 😢

I was trying to find optimal combination but I have failed to find it. The best was still the 114. Is this really maximum available value for this spec?

memtest is not a good measurement of memory speed. I've never trusted it.

try something else like speedsys. There are threads on this form with many many examples of systems, and their speeds. For example, look at the 686 ultimate benchmark thread.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

I have also made a test in STREAM benchmark under Linux. Numbers are even lower 🙁 Will try other tools when I have some time.
