Recentlty, i got a PC with an Abit AI7 which i mentioned in one of my threads (Worth getting scrap PCs with an Abit AI7 and Intel D865PERL?), but i found that the board have an issue, it can't POST when a videocard is installed on the AGP slot, there no presence of blown/bad caps, i already tried multiple CPUs (Northwoods, Prescotts..) and RAM, also other PSUs and reseting the CMOS, but still nothing

The results are:

  • No RAM, no videocard, no POST, RAM error beeps
  • No RAM, PCI videocard, no POST, RAM error beeps
  • No RAM, AGP videocard, no POST, RAM error beeps
  • With RAM, no videocard, videocard error beeps
  • With RAM, PCI videocard, POSTs without issues
  • With RAM, AGP videocard, no POST, no beeps

Do someone think there a solution for that or is my board fautly/dead?

Which AGP graphics cards have you tested your Abit board with?
And do those AGP graphics work in other boards?

Just to verify, you are not trying to use a 2x AGP card in there? Or a graphics card that is too recent?
Something like a GF2MX should work (provided the board isn't defective, as you're already suspecting).

What does it do if you try to make it post with both a PCI and AGP graphics card??

Whats missing in your collections?

i can't fit a 3.3v card, i only tested some cards and all the cards i used to test the board works in other boards.

The tested cards are:
Radeon HD 3450 AGP (the card which originally came on that PC)
Geforce 4 MX 4000
Geforce 4 MX 440
Geforce 3
Geforce 2 MX 400
Radeon 9550
Geforce 6200
Geforce FX 5700LE

I tried with both AGP and PCI card, same issue as AGP card alone, the PCI card i used to test is an old S3 Trio64
