In this auction,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/252838843552
What kind of case is this ?

The seller says it's eMachines, but he also says the computer is a 386DX when
he has pictures of the boot screen showing it's a 486 @ 100MHz.

Unfortunately this poor computer is being attacked by an evil Varta. 🙁

If that's eMachines I'll smoke my hat. I don't recall who made those - maybe Enlite? I know I've seen them around before, quite often. Kind of an odd board, though - VLB, can take a DX4, but still has 30-pin slots? Oddish.

Main Box: Macbook Pro M2 Max
Alas, I'm down to emulation.

Case manufacturer's really didn't start any sort of brand awareness type of things until Late Pentum 3 era. Even today you can find 5 diffrent cases from 5 diffrent manufacturer's that have a diffrent bezel/faceplate but internally are the same. As if it wasn't annoying enough.

Definitely a boring beige box.

By the way, when he said "e machine" he meant literally E machine. The case badge on the front is an E, probably put on there by whatever small company built the thing.

Heck even that late it was happening. We should take a poll: How many of us owned an Antec SX1040 / Chieftec Dragon / other rebrand of that case?

Yes, I always ramble this much.

Except Dell, they still to this day want to be the special snowflake
