I've bought a Slot Am motherboard and CPU bundle. I've tried using my single sided PC133 memory on it. Nothing shows on the screen. Done the usual reset bios by taking batter out etc. frustrating. Wanted to check out IDE to SD and my vortex 2 😒

What board is it?

Have you tried other memory?

Do you know the CPU works?

What GPU are you using?

Did you try other slots?

Is the PSU good?

Are the caps working?

We need more info here.

The board is a gigabyte ga-71xe and the processor is an athlon 800mhz slot a. I've connected a ti4200 which spins up no display. Then ati rage ultra no display. One sick of ram. Different dimm slots nothing. I have a suspicion is to do with the single sided high density memory I have that the system doesn't like

Might need a newer BIOS. 800Mhz is one of the later Slot-A cores and although the board probably supports it, it may need a newer BIOS to do so. I don't suppose you have an older Slot-A cpu to try it with like a 500-600?
