It is Tulip TC40. Regular COAST module does not fit, the Compaq one looks to be right physically.

Many 3Dfx and Pentium III-S stuff.

The Compaq one is the same size as a VLB slot. If you don't know 100% for sure that it will work with the Compaq module I wouldn't try it unless you want to very possibly have a fried motherboard.

Not seeing another thread about the TC40 for you here but I did find the manual as well as some other info. The cache module is proprietary according to the motherboard manual.

Power Macintosh 6100/60 NUBUS Adapter Card - this has a couple damaged traces on the back and a few legs of the big chip are bent as well as a few that have been disconnected from the board:
If somebody wants it, I should be able to repair it fairly quickly but I have no way to test it.

I might take that out of your hands, if you could get a quote on shipping to France, thanks 😀

I'll get you the shipping quote this evening.

Does anyone collect old network cards? I've got some oddities from the 80's if anyone wants them.

I've got 3 full length Ungerman Bass monsters, an assortment of 3com cards (3c501,3c503, 3c505, 3c507), and an old WD8003e. They are all BNC and/or DIX.

Untested.

What kind of port for the 3com cards? ISA/PCI?

I think the newest of these cards was already installed and running before PCI had it's first steering committee meeting in 1990.

So the correct question is XT or ISA. Most are 8 bit. The 3c505 & 3c507 are 16 bit.

I'm quite fond of ethernet cards, so I wouldn't mind getting the yellow 3Com Etherlink II, the bottom right 3Com one and one of the 8-bit big ones, possibly the second from the top on the right.

I am interested in the Compaq 003560-001 256KB cache module. I have some other 486 computer with empty COAST slot that is physically same, would love to test if it works.

I have a Compaq Deskpro XE 466 that came with one of these cache modules in it so it should work with one of these models.

I doubt that top left one is ISA, since it has components on the wrong side
and it sure is no PCI either.

Right to repair is fundamental. You own it, you're allowed to fix it.

It also has different spacing on the edge connector, so it probably wasn't PC bus (8-bit)

that 30pin connector on top... odd thing for a simple networkcard methinks 😀
While the spacing is a bit odd, it does seem to align with the ISA power rails, so... odd.
Guessing now it is an 8bit ISA PC/XT card... but those components on that side... annoying.
What components are on the other side aside from the BNC connector ?

2 LEDs only. That board is super weird! It's almost as if someone made a mistake when designing it 😆

Well going by the DP8341 datasheet that card has something to do with an IBM 3270
ooh yeah... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irma_board

Seems you hit the jackpot 😁

It appears the reason the base board is reversed like that is because it can take a daughter-board which would occupy the "normal" component side. No idea what the daughter board would do.

Before I toss this I wanted to see if anyone has a use for it in their modern system. This is completely unused (well, maybe plugged in once). I removed the NVMe and placed it directly into my motherboard's M.2 slot so I don't need the card. You could stick your own NVMe drive in it. The card chassis also doubles as a drive heatsink. Comes in original box with all parts and docs minus the drive. See photos. Free. Just pay shipping.

Is it small enough for the 1st class?

Has to be under 13oz. Doubtful, but I'll chk.

Edit: Yep, nope. 16oz. So ground shipping.
