I don't think having a non-super Socket 7 ATX board would hurt (unless it's madingly expensive! 😵 )

They are getting hard to find and almost never come up locally where I am. They sometimes turn up free or almost free, but I would grab one while you can for <=$50 if you really want one now.

i have something kinda similar, Its a s7 intelHX board that comes in my hp pavillion 7410p has a onboard yamaha opl chip with what looks like a ess es938j daughterboard with wave table. onboard s3 virge as well eh.

I have one of these. It had an oem bios... don't remember which, though; flashed it with the latest from Intel with no issues.
