A lovely old mobo this ..
DFI I believe..
will take 30 pin or 72 pin ram
Has 3 x 16 bit ISA ...4 PCI and an AGP
There are 2 psu connectors ...AT 20 pin and ATX 24 pin ...
I want to use the former and have an adapter on order.
Believe it or not ..this mobo has a USB header .. somewhere ...and flying leads to slot mounted Serial & parallel ports ..
Also I think a PS/2 for the mouse ..and integrated AT Keyboard ports
There is a mainboard mounted multiswitch from which various CPU Cache and RAM configs can be setup.
My first question would be ..getting it to power up ..as I dont think the mobo supports 'soft start' ..
I can't find a header for a momentary power start switch ..
So ..perhaps I need to hard wire a switch to the psu ??
some help here would be useful..and appreciated
Attached is what pin headers I do have on the mobo ...errr ..I assume this matches.
..and the attached mobo pic is similar but not the same..
for example ..it doesnt have 30 pin ram slots.

Here it is the manual
So if you are going to use an ATX PSU you should connect an ATX power button to "SP-SW" (ATX Power Switch) (page 27 of the manual) to power up your system.

What do you mean by that? Socket 7 mobos haven't got them at all.

You're welcome! But it would be good if you uploaded the real photo of your mainboard.

Made a BIG mistake ..
I had this mobo mixed up with another one I used to have..
I guess the photo posted previously is accurate..afterall.
I should really have removed the case before making inaccurate claims..
appologies..
but it has been in my loft untouched for about 20 years.
anyway ..
this is mine ..
with a few close ups.
....bonus ..the cpu is still in there.... though I've forgotten what it is..🤣

I've looked at the pictures. 1MB of L2 cache on board!
I think the manual, I've mentioned, should be correct.

here are some goodies , manual + latest patched bios

edit: heh, I had upload both 128GB BIOS and manual on vogonsdrivers, grab it here: http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=645

ps. the 128GB BIOS was working fine for me but as always use it at your own risk...

Just dug to the bottom of my Graphics card box ..
Err ..no ..I dont own a Voodoo 😢
But I did find an ATI Radeon Saphire X800 pro 256M DDR
A) will this mobo support this card ?
b) is it any good compared to a voodoo ?
c) ..does it even work ..🤣
as yet untested

So graphically my options are very limited ..
I'm down to a choice of 2 AGP cards ..
Which would you choose ?
One day maybe I'll find a suitable Voodoo ..but for now ..this is it ..
😉

OR ..I _could_ ignore AGP altogether and fit a working Diamond Stealth 64 PCI ???

They all are decent for 2D DOS gaming.

I would pick ATI Rage II (from mentioned ones). I think it's got more videoram and clear picture. More VideoRAM would be handy in Windows to support high resolution

Thanks Roman ..
Choice made then ..
Oh and I populated all 3 ram slots with matching Kingston Memory ..for a total of 785,408 k ..
Nice ..
It's amazing what you hide away over the years..

And you know there's the universal mass storage driver for USB for Windows 95 and 98 now!
I was amazed when I recently found out this!

Thanks for the info and the help Roman ..
Going to make a custom I/O shield next ...to fit the various ports and connectors ..since these would occupy PCI or ISA slots otherwise..
later buddy..

The S3 is more compatible with pickier DOS software, though.

Yes, I agree, but the Rage IIC card would be a trade-off (IMO)
