Hi guys,

so: branded 486 PC, Compaq Prolinea 4/66. It has a motherboard-integrated Tseng ET4000 W32i SVGA, 1 MB, 1024 x 768 @ 256 colors.
When the tech specs say that the SVGA is "local bus"....

Can you assume it is faster than the ISA bus? And, if so, what the bandwidth of this "local bus" would be?

Good luck with that!

Thanks.

Seems like the conclusion in this thread: How fast is onboard video on a 486? (compaq prolinea 33) , is that it is VLB.

Check out DOSBox Distro:

a lightweight Linux distro (tinycore) which boots off a usb flash drive and goes straight to DOSBox.

Make your dos retrogaming experience portable!
