I got a 486 motherboard that came with two 16Mb sticks of 50ns edo ram. It seems that one of the sticks is broken because it give memory test failure error during post.
Does it generally matter when it comes to 486 performance what ram type or ram speed you have?
I have lots of options here. I could just leave one 16Mb stick of 50ns edo ram there that the board came with, I could put 2 different edo 16Mb sticks that I have there, but they are 60ns. Or I could just fill the board with FPM sticks if speed and type does not matter and it is just better to go with as much ram as possible.
