Hi guys, this was my first pentium1 computer
the one that gave me all pleasures and the one i used to connect to the internet for the first time.
I wanted to know if any of you have this pc, as it was very common during its era.

The machine is a compaq presario 4122

it is a socket7 pentium1 120mhz (that can be ugpraded to a 200mhz mmx processor.)
but the compaq motherboard (has a Predator like the movie face logo on the pcb...really nice by the way) has a slot for 256mb cache.

I want to know if someone here upgraded it with the cache, and i want to know if normal cache sticks from that era work (same amount of pins. some of the cache are 40+38 pin on one side). I wonder if compaq introduced a cache that only works on their machine and the rest of the cache makers can kill the motherboard.

this is not the cache listed on the manual for the machine, but it has the same amount of pins, wonder if it can kill the pc:

hi

same here, however I had the Presario 4162 which looked exactly the same but had a P1 150 MHz (no MMX) and 16 MB RAM.
Where are you from? Lucky, you still have yours. I gave mine away years ago.
