I confirmed it by myself: Bios ver 4 does not support PODP at all. My board is rev B1.

Micronics support said that bios downgrade is impossible but they wrote nonsense. I used /mode=3 switch and it worked .

After downgrading to the older version of bios: w6li2m-3 system is functioning with both PODPs with enabled cache.
Only thing is POST display CPU=Overdrive 75Mhz

Hello there, i am reviving my w6-li mobo as well and i would like to ask you what os did you use.I tried to boot ubuntu 8,04 but it didnt boot.All i got is an endless progress bar.

NT4 works.
Now i don't remember how i booted off from cd- pci scsi or integrated atapi...

Hello vogoners and my self. Back in the days circa 2000 I was the one who wrote in sysopt that I managed to install win2k on the trustfull w6-li. Back then I had to install win98 starting from a floppy disk and later on copy an Iso disk of win2k to a local HD and install from the Iso the win 2k by clicking the copy all files first option. It seems that both the floppy controller and ide bus are broken once in win2k environment.Ofcourse I was using an LSI scsi controller with a CD rom. 5years ago I tried to revive my ppro after selling my s1668 to a buyer only to find out that the LSI was missing. I tried some mylex accelarade 250 unsuccessfully due to missing built in drivers and later on I tried an adaptec 2940u2w and presto, voila! I can now boot from a scsi csrom and installing directly to a scsi. Myth busted some people would say. Win2k is a reality and super easy to install. Next myth is if the w6-li can oc the pros to 266mhz like my s1668 would do. Next stop is downgrading the rom to 4.05.More info later tonight. Stay tuned.
