Second the mTCP route for simple FTP once you've booted from bootdisk. Works very easily if you have even the bare minimum of (TCP) networking experience. Plus it's so small you can actually run it from bootdisk (you need a packet driver, 24kB and either FTP client or (my preference) server, 105kB. Plus you may want DHCP.EXE, 37kB).

Only caveat is that the mTCP site links to the Crynwr packet driver project, but I've had multiple issues with those drivers. I'd recommend using manufacturer drivers if they're available. Fortunately AMD Lance is well supported, the packet drivers are widely available, including here:
