What type of socket using the memory of previously picture: DIP-28 or SOJ?
Are the sockets in the links OK?

Those are definitely DIP chips.
SOJ look like this
These are DIP-28. All 256Kbit (32Kx8) SRAM chips are 28-pin. 512Kbit and 1Mbit are 32-pin.
What makes you think your chips are defective?
They seem to be soldered, so most probably fakes.
Yeah they're not defective, they just never worked because it's a fucking piece of metal inside a plastic shell with metal legs ^^
But I noticed that on most boards (except the infamous pcchips m919), replacing fake cache chips solves the issue, no need to modify the bios, and the traces actually go somewhere (unlike on the m919) so it should work. However you should also put proper jumpers in the spots where they should be. Currently they're hardwired.
