Hi,

I unearthed my old Sharp PC-7000A after keeping it mothballed for 20 odd years and for the first time in 30 years, opened it’s back cover. I would like to beef the machine up a bit after going on a cap replacement run (was told to replace the tantalum caps asap, and of course I am well aware that the NiCd battery needs changing too), and I noticed that one section of the board was left bare. There is space for a 26-pin connector marked “HD Card” as well as space for several logic chips (which are generously labeled, so I figure I could just populate the part of the board and it would work?)

Thing is, there’s some speculation on whether the connector needs to link another daughterboard or straight to a hard drive.

So yeah, Does anyone here have a picture of the 7100’s logic board they’re willing to share? I’d like to check if the 7100 is using the same logic board as mine and if it’s possible to add hard drive support to the thing.

Here’s a picture of the logic board of my PC-7000A :
