Last week I saved an epson px-4 portable cp/m machine from the trash.

The thing wasn't doing anything at all and it was dirty.
Turned out to be a simple fix to get it working on an external power supply.
The keyboard had some keys which weren't working, but that was solved by just cleaning the keyboard.

The rechargeable battery was dead and so was the backup battery which I removed.
The normal AA battery contact were missing on one side so I had to find replacement battery contacts.

Tonight I found some old remote controls from devices I didn't own anymore, so I salvaged the battery contacts and installed them into the PX-4.
Now it runs on normal AA batteries again 😀

Now all I need to is replace the backup battery with a working one and this baby will be fully restored again 😀

I also placed the utility rom in the option rom socket/cartridge and the 2nd option rom socket/cartridge was filled with the official epson basic rom
