When I got my Toshiba T5200, I was concerned with losing the gas-plasma display; I love the crisp orange look of it.
I looked to see if such displays were still available, and I discovered that they can be found in surplus medical equipment.

Any experts out there... could these medical gas plasma displays be adapted to work with VGA video? EGA? RGBi?

It would be expensive, but I would love to build an older system... 486, Pentium... around one of these displays.
Give it a custom case with the display built-in, resembling a Commodore PET, (only smaller) for example.

I found this post that suggests the hospital crash cart displays take VGA, but they might have a limited range of resolutions that they will accept. Difficult to say without a specific display model number.

Cool idea either way. Would love to see pictures if you pull it off.
