I want to put togeather a basic DOS 6.22 boot diskette with cdrom support.
I don’t want the ALL-Disks Boot diskette as it has too much stuff.

I want to make my own and keep it simple.

What files should I have?

I have IDE drives and IDE CDROM and floppy dives too.

I need files like:
MSCDEX
Cdrom.sys
Atapicd.sys
Depart
Format
Edit
Emm386
Etc...

Can someone post an example of a good Autoexec.bat and Config.sys ?

Something like this...

config.sys

device=himem.sys /testmem:off
dos=high,umb
devicehigh=emm386.exe RAM
devicehigh=cdrom.sys /d:CD001

autoexec.bat

lh mscdex.exe /d:CD001

Create one from Win98.... (format a /s)
Then add the basic stuff like format.exe, attrib.exe and so on from the windows installation it self.
You need to edit autoexec.bat and config.sys manually.

It will give you the exact same options as MS-Dos 6.22, yet the procedure is the exact same as Win98.
Else you can open autoexec.bat and config.sys from the Win98 bootdisk, then copy the lines,
then change disk and open the autoexec.bat or config.sys (without closing edit) and paste the lines.
Finally copy whatever files/drivers/tsr's you need from one disk to the other.

That is how I make CD-Rom support on my Dos6.22 boot disks.

Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick....

Create a bootable disk with format /s. Every time you run into a situation and don't have the util you need, copy it to your disk. What I need isn't what you need, and vice versa.

For me, it's CD stuff, SCSI drivers for the couple chipsets I use, himem sys format edit attrib move fdisk deltree, pkunzip.
