hey guys, i bought a Macmini G4 fastest one (first model) for 20 bucks
i found out that the dvd drive is broken, no big deal for me since i connected a normal laptop dvd drive and it works.

The reason for this was to install a modified version of MacOS 9, for some retro gaming on a mac. Everything installe fine.

But this machine has the top cover all yellowed. The top cover is made of some type of acrylic with the apple logo.

i wonder if anyone has a macmini that also yellowed? acrylic also turns yellow over time?

I think they may have used different materials in different production runs, because usually I see them as white or slightly cream, but occasionally I see a badly yellowed one.

I haven't tried retrobrighting one, the plastic is a lot thinner and slicker than most computer parts. It seems sealed, not sure how that would affect oxygen transfer.

*Too* *many* *things*!
