Hello
2009 Be quiet! dark power PRO P7 650W
- Is a very long 180mm power supply so I won't be able to fit a normal 170mm optical drive to case= SilentiumPC Brutus M10 Pure Black.

Now planning to use a 2.5" optical drive about: 130-140mm long (=laptop optical drive.)
- What is the proper search name of those cheap: 5.25" to 2.5" optical drive caddy adapters ?
- I can only find a very expensive multi tray with usb3.0 for 40usd$ USA seller on Ebay.

Something like some HP desktops have see photo.
Do Chinese sell these on ebay or are they rare ?

If I find a tray how to connect these the HP's GUD1N: 2.5" sata connectors seem different and smaller than basic 3.5" sata connectors ?
Is the power cable different and data cable same ?
Probably still those same sata to IDE adapters work.

From my experience with these drives in a recent dell server, the sata data connector is standard, the power connector is a shorter version which only carries 5v and ground.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_ATA#Power_connectors

It appears to just be called "slimline sata".

Not sure on the adaptor, only thing i've seen is a housing which takes a slimline optical and a hotswap hard drive. Maybe try thingiverse?

Modern and used HP desktop PCs have those I can't find new 2.5" to 5.25" optical drive adapters easily on ebay.
Tried search words like:
"SLIM DRIVE BAY 5.25".
"OPTICAL DRIVE ADAPTER 5.25" 2.5".

SLIM SATA -> IDE 40 adapters seem also rare...
SLIM IDE(=JAE-50) -> IDE 40 adapters are plenty and cheap.
Hmmm. why is that ? Pretty much forced to use old SLIM IDE laptop drives.

Hello
Can you draw a connection photo for SLIM SATA to basic IDE 40-pin ?
- So SATA to IDE adapter does not need to be powered ?
Thanks
