Yeah, hes been super responsive to me as well. I forgot to mention he said he would be supplying tracking for the unit as well.

Did you end up getting that Multi I/O card? Because if so, I tested it already in my real XT and it worked flawlessly so it SHOULD work on the NuXT.

Will you be doing a build video for the NuXT too?

Ahh that's awesome. I check my email every day, like I would be anyway, keep hoping to see that shipping confirmation. Ironically some friends of mine are in New Zealand this month.

I got the Multi-IO card. Some of the pins were bent on mine but only a little. It otherwise looks like it's brand new and has never been installed in anything. I mainly got it for the game port even thought I will probably never use it. I have another 8-Bit ISA IO card that's just a serial & parallel port as I mainly just wanted a second serial port but having the extra functionality for me was important.

I'm also planning on taking one of the IO shields from Thingiverse measuring things out editing it and printing an IO Shield. If you don't have a 3D Printer and want one, let me know. We can work something out. I'll post the remix of the model on Thingiverse as well.

And yes will be doing a video for sure! Planning on going long form for this one, but want to keep it under 40 min MAX. Since LGR has already done a video on it I'm looking to try and do my own spin/style video on it, taking a deeper dive into setup/drivers and build. I'm cramming this into the smallest case I could find that can still take standard height expansion cards. I've really never been this excited to build such a slow computer. 😁 Some people are super into Raspberry Pi, or other open source SBC's. I feel like this is "OUR" SBC. Cheers.

I would love a printed IO shield! Thanks for the offer! I will PM you and hopefully we can work it out.

Cool going to look out for the video. I'm just mainly interested to see what other people do with it.

No problem. Replied to your PM. And same thing here. Like any ATX build there's so many different ways someone could build this to suit their needs/aesthetic/style. For me I wanted somethig as compact as possible.

Hey all got an update from JD, delays on production but he said my order should be ready within 2 weeks. I ordered about Aug 6th to help gauge where youre at.

Big update though, he sourced I/O shields and will be including them with the order!

Completely fair. This board isn't for everybody. For me the whole point of this is to run period correct software/games. 😁

That just means that you don't care for dos games made in the early 80's. There are lots of titles that won't run correctly or at all on a 386 or better.

Well it's pretty obvious the system WASN'T DESIGNED to run DOOM.

And that's where an Intel Inboard 386/PC card clone comes in. 🤣

Can you tell me more about this magic? 😀

I can't tell you any more than Google can. It's a card that chucks a 386 (+ some cache I think) onto the 8088's bus through an 8 bit ISA slot and a custom cable that hooks between the original 8088 and its socket.

I'm not working on a clone if that's what you're thinking. Though I am working on a compatible-modern-parts PET clone that will probably never amount to anything.

Old precedes antique.

PET clone?

The main part of the PETs I would want to clone would be the cases /drool

I have a NuXT and it's great but I really want a 286/386 version!

Ahh when did you get your NuXT? Post some pics?

If something like a 386 "NuAT" was released. Even if it was something like an SX25 or something I would scoop it up in a second! That said the NuXT should be a lot of fun. Well that and the myabandonware archive! 😁
