Does anyone have a list / picture of the full contents for the original AWE64 Gold (CT4390). I bought a couple of these new in late 96 or early 97 and their contents have become rather scattered in storage & use. As I'm planning to donate one to one of my young cousins who's showing some interest in the vintage side of things, I'd like it to be as complete as possible.

Sadly I no longer have the cardboard boxes to refer to, and the full-face embossed Creative decal mirror which was stuck to the front only mentions CUBASIS audio as a free inclusion. I know there was a manual and drivers CD and there were cables (RCA) and a mic but I'm not sure about other cables, adapters or software & docs. TIA for any help.

Take a look here, one of the box pictures lists the contents:

Nothing too exciting really, just a cheap "hands-free mic" and the SPDIF cable. Strangely, I bought a boxed AWE64 gold with the 8MB memory expansion from someone (maybe on here?) recently, mine lists these parts:

  • Sound Blaster AWE64 Gold card
  • Creative Configuration Manager
  • Creative Software Suite for Windows® 95 and Windows 3.1™ / MS-DOS on CD-ROM
  • Hands-free Microphone
  • MIDI Cable
  • Gold RCA Cable
  • Bracket with SPDIF output connector

Make sure your PC meets the requirements, it needs a Pentium 90!

Thx @Thermalwrong for the pics in the link and your own list; this is kind of why I was asking - I suspect there might have been a number of versions of the package with slightly differing contents (certainly never seen another one like mine), and what I have left of my original boxes tells me nothing. Next plan is to have a dig around on archive.org for the old SB & Creative sites.

Here are some photos of my package for items not mentioned above.

That requirement is more for the rather useless software WaveSynth driver. AWE64 sans that driver, it'll work fine in a 486.
