I'll be honest, my first reaction was 'why the fuck would anyone go to such trouble', but the more I read about it the more I enjoyed the effort that went into it. Well done. I look forward to the finished build and a LOT of photos, maybe a video and whatnot..

Thanks. 😀
Once the build is done, I will make sure that I take a lot of pictures and put it on the blog. As for a video! Then I am not good at making those thing's. I might do it and make it avaliable on my blog. Blogging is kind of my thing, compared to others that are making Youtube stuff. I will keep this tread updated, whenever I do something new on my machine, yet it will take time as funds are really low here. (need to sell some PC stuff I am not using, else no progress)

I don't know that term! 🙁

Stealth builds usually hide cool stuff in a plain, forgettable container. Your case isn't exactly ordinary, but nobody would expect the guts of an Amiga inside!

Thanks for the clearup. Well. That is one way to put my build. 😀 The choice was actually between this case, and then a case from an IBM 330-486dx2 machine. I still have that case on the loft. Yet the case that I chose, was because it have kind of the same design language as an Amiga. Looks like a fusion between a 4000 and a 500. With some few disgn notes from a 1200 or 600 case. However, I have seen one of them IBM 330's, being used as a case convertion on another site. Or it might have been a Commodore64 in PC case that I saw. Yet using an IBM case like that, just feel's wrong for some reason. The design are completely off in my mind.

brostenen: Great project, I wish you luck on the build and your own state of mind 😀 I usually use a spell checker/dictionary when I write. In English, but that does not mean my spelling is not good. It is just as backup, if my mind goes "bla bla bla", and in fact I write "yada yada". But seriously though you are a cool dude, and kudos to you man 😀 And I did read the link 😀

Thanks. I have just gotten a USB wire, so I am able to install a USB port on the back. It will not be compatible with anything else, than a USB keyboard. It is just for the USB keyboard adaptor that I bought a month ago. (Now I really need that ScanDoubler)

Bro, I only just got around to reading some of your blog posts on this, but I couldn't figure out what that potentiometer sticking out the slot bracket is! So, forgive my ignorance: what does it do?

Really like where you went with this stealth build.

Oh, and, as a fellow sufferer from depression: WAY to hang in there and keep your head above water. I sincerely wish you all the best.

It is the selector, for the Kickstart switcher. (the one that allows me to use 4 kickstarts) A lot of people want such a thing, to be keyboard operated. I am more the type that want it manually operated. And thanks. I like that you find it interresting. 😀 I know that I am writing a ton of text, yet I like to do it this way, compared to all them YouTube videoes out there. Just want to do things a bit different in my life. 😁

Indeed true.... There are too much Amiga videoes out there, so that is why I am doing something completely different. However, I have gotten a request for a video when the convertion is final. Right now it is useable when the case is closed. However I am planning to complete that Amiga-keyboard that I am working on and then install a scandoubler, before I can truly deem it finished in the state that I visioned before I started this project.

AND.... My machine it self, are all finished. Except small things like heatsinks and so on.

The blogpost about the convertion....

The thoughts on how I wanted it, that I had back in the early 90's, are all done.
I can use PC keyboards (even though it was Ps/2 back then) and I have VGA out to standard PC monitor.
I have harddrive and CD-Rom, kickstart switcher and buttloads of memory (from the AmigaOS's perspective).

And I thought it would take me well into 2020. Guess I was wrong. 😁

If anybody just needs someone to talk to, I'm happy to be a friend to anyone that needs a talking buddy, and any sufferers in general that feel alone. I'm diagnosed ocd/anxiety disorders, ptsd, aspie, with several others possible (but quit going to the shrink after 3 years because I couldn't stand her anymore and didn't feel like starting over). Computers are great to take the mind off off other things.

I have a Cd32 and know very little about the thing. I've always wanted to use it for running all manner of Amiga software. Never really researched where to start.

Cool....
First you need to get it recapped. The SMD caps that Commodore used in their AGA stuff and a600 machines, were of inferiour quality.
So if they have not begun leaking yet, they will soon start doing so.

Then you can get upgrades for the CD32. Like there is a Terrible Fire accelerator with lots of Ram and it provides an IDE controller.
It also provides a keyboard port. And using that, you can turn the CD32 into a souped up Amiga1200. The CD becomes a drive in Workbench.
Then it is just a matter of getting a Scandoubler for the baby. Then you have a way better machine than a 1200.

You can read about the first TF-Card for the CD32 on this blog here...
If I remember correctly, then there are a newer TF for the CD32 out there.

Amazingly enough, I found a cap kit with one Google search https://console5.com/store/commodore-amiga-cd … md-cap-kit.html

Any idea the going rate for Terrible Fire accelerators? It seems there are lots of resellers and prices all over the place. What's the best place / price? I'm patient (to many projects) leaking caps and batteries are always a priority, but upgrades can always wait.

Thanks!

I bought my TF for my Amiga500 on Amibay. I think you can find the CD32 edition there as well. Else I have no idea on pricing and such. I am only OCS and ECS owner, not AGA owner.
