Since I started my hobby of collecting cool pieces of hardware last year, I've had many motherboards, CPUs, sound card and other stuff lying around. Many of them were tested for once and then started collecting dust. So I think maybe I should sell some of them... and trade for (maybe) something even "cooler". But I'm not sure which to keep.
Here's the list of what I have:
Motherboards:
- T&W S486 REV:A2, SiS 496/497 board but with bad memory/cache compatibility
- Gigabyte GA-586TX3 v1.08, Intel 430TX, pairing with an AMD K6-2 366
- FIC PA-2013 v2.0, VIA Apollo MVP3, which I tend to keep, pairing with an AMD K6-2+ 500
- Asus P3B-F v1.04, Intel 440BX, which I also tend to keep, pairing with a Pentium III 1000B
- MSI MS-6137 v5.0, Intel 810 with no AGP slot and have problem with ISA (CMOS wouldn't save with ISA cards plugged in)
- MSI 815EPT Pro, Tualatin capable, but picky with AGP card, only got Celeron 1.0A for it (overclockable to 1.33GHz)
- Abit NF7 v2.0, NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400, pairing with an AMD Athlon XP 2500+
- HP Compaq t5720, a nice thin client that I want to keep
- MSI 850 Pro2, Intel 850, pairing with a Pentium 4 1.5GHz
- ECS K8M800-M3 v1.0A, which I'm sure to keep to play with early Windows Vista builds, pairing with an AMD Athlon 64 3000+
- MSI 785GTM-E45, with a Phenom II X2 B59 unlocked to 4 cores, too new to be considered retro 🤣
I'm going to keep all other stuff for now, like sound cards and CPUs. What do you choose if I want to keep one or two of them (except that K8M800 one)?

AMD K6-2+ 500, FIC PA-2013 2.0 (1MB cache), 128MB SDRAM PC100, Voodoo3 3000 AGP, Labway Yamaha YMF719B-S with NEC XR385
AMD Athlon 64 3000+, ECS K8M800-M3, 512MB DDR 400, GeForce FX 5200, SoundBlaster Live! SB0060

If I can only keep two of them the Asus P3B-F, and the FIC PA-2013 those 2 systems should cover everything I would want. The rest of them are either not as good as those 2 boards, or they are not retro and so they don't matter to me.

If you can spare room for one more, keep the 430TX but your K8M800 Socket 754 renders the rest obsolete. Pop an X800 series AGP card onto it and dualboot WinXP/98. Done.
