Hello, thanks to Ivan_v the Victor V286C is running again. But I have another problem. This Victor came with a Adaptec ACB-2370 RLL controller and a Seagate ST-138R harddisk (RLL). But I can't get it working. With SpeedStore I can checkit, read/write test , low level format etc is no problem. But the system won't see the harddisk. In the bios there is no entry off the disk I have. Is there some one who knows what to do ?
Hi. I know thisnis a bit of an old post now. I have a victor v286 (a slightly different model with no graphics). I have the same issue of needing the bios setup from a boot disk. My machine doesnt have a floppy drive at the minute. Does the boot setup care what type of drive it is? You'd ordinarily select the floppy drive type in the bios but clearly you cant here as it reads the setup from a disk on boot. So the question is, does it matter what kind of drive I boot from i. e. A 5 1/4 720k or a 3.5 inch drive etc. Is there a specific drive type predefined in the setup program or will it work with any drive?
cheers
Chris

Hej guys, hope you all still around. Just found a Victor v286c, and it's on its way to me. It's a bit in an unknown state. According to the labels it was used at Lund's university in Sweden for MATSTAT. 😅
