I was checking archive.org yesterday and noticed that there is an active group of people
uploading Old hardware drivers CD images. There is quite a lot of them, more than last time i checked.

And wanted to ask if its possible if we can also contribute. I have a lot of motherboards
that are missing their original CDs and i would love to have an image or ISO of such disc.
If anyone wants to share i will make sure it gets shared if anyone is looking for them in the future. .

Here is a list of motherboards im looking for an .iso image:

ASUS CUSL2 ( not "-c")
ASUS TUSL2-C
MSI K7N2 Delta2 Platinum
ABIT KT7A (not raid)
ASUS A7N8X-E

Here is a great collection of CD images from asus motherboards that have been shared already:

Are you sure the CUSL2 driver cd is differant than the CUSL2-C ?
I have the -C cd (Asus #M 168, all driver cd's have an M number) and it says "Intel 815E Chipset Series" on the label and in the file txt, so covers more than one board.
My Asus M 166 driver cd says "VIA/AMD 761 Series" and covers the CUV4X/A7V/A7M, etc boards. Not every board after 1999 got it's own driver cd.
Best thing would be to get a picture of the actual CD face and try to collect all the M numbers...
Added: my P2B-S cd also covers the P2B-DS board..

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

I think you might be correct on your idea. Back in the day motherboard manufacturers , or some of them, released one CD covering different motherboards that were released during that specific time of the year. I have seen that happen with Soyo motherboards and also with epox motherboards too. So it might be very common that your CD works also on the non -C variant.

edit: i just found images on CUSL2 and it also uses M168 cd, can you upload an img iso of the cd so we all have it ?

wich is very low quality i think the letters say M186 and when i searched on google asus M186 a miracle happened

There shouldn't be any problem with that, as long as he doesn't share the CD keys. Also these "full" versions are often locked with authentication DLLs which only work when the software is executed in entitled boards, which ofc gives the owner of these boards a license and the rights to execute these "full" software titles.

Asus CUSL2, CUSL2-C driver CD M168: https://archive.org/details/asusm168cusl2815mb

Added: I do not think showing a link to Archive.org will create any issues and the software that is protected usually comes with it's own cert and serial number as hyoenmadan mentioned and seen in this picture of an Asus P3V4X complete package (i blocked the serial on the Yamaha software):

Thank you very mucho Horun
really appreciate it. now i have motherboard, box, and full CD.

I wonder if the cd will also work on TUSL2-C, because i saw that even if the M-168 number is on the CD, there are newer M-numbers for that same model "intel 815E"

Asus, at least, still maintains a support site where you can get manuals, BIOS images, and drivers. It's the defunct ones, and the OEM boards (like my MSI MS-6318 that I got somewhere) that are tricky. 😀

I'm all in favor of archiving the original disc images though. Just for grins.

I threw most of mine away, having opted for the latest from the manufacture's website most of the time. But I have found a couple gathering sawdust in the garage, or tucked away in a box somewhere.

I just posted in the drivers archive thread yesterday that I have an FIC Motherboard driver CD. They used to do a new one every year or so with all of the drivers for the last couple of years. I think mine is from an FIC VA-503, but it has drivers for a large number of boards and chipsets from 1997-1999.

I will try to do an ISO of it in the next day or two, and either upload it to archive.org or share it with someone here via Google Drive or something.

Cheers,

Harley.
