I recently put together an Athlon XP 3200+ retro build using an ASUS A7V600 motherboard with a VIA KT600 chipset. I have had some stability issues with DDR 3200 memory running at 400 Mhz. It runs fine a 333 Mhz. It currently has the last production BIOS 1008. There is a beta BIOS 1009 on ASUS's website and was wondering if upgrading to this version would help with memory compatibility. I cannot find any release notes on this version, and I am hesitant to upgrade the BIOS to this version in case it causes problems. Does anyone have experience with this BIOS release and if I were to upgrade can I install the previous BIOS version if necessary?

Thanks!

That pretty much is what I suspected that DDR 3200 DIMMs running at 400 Mhz were going to be problematic. The board only supports 2 DIMMs running at 400 Mhz. I just popped in a 3rd 1GB DDR 3200 DIMM and decided to run 3GB at 333 Mhz. Not a huge loss anyway. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
