Hi,
I'm trying to get an old Compaq Armada 7770 laptop working. The hard drive and its caddy is missing. The caddy contains an adapter for connecting a 44-pin IDE drive.
I want to connect a hard drive to the machine.

How can I replace this adapter (or caddy)?

Pictures of the caddy is attached to this post. (Source: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Compaq-194086-001-Ha … rs/193383897406)

Notice how it is not as wide as 44-pin IDE.

This one you have, also LTE ELITE 4/xx series uses these same hard drive caddy. Checked by pulled one from my LTE ELITE 4/50E.

Cheers,

The LTE 5000 and 5300 also have this type of proprietary adapter for IDE 44-pin, and a similar, but not compatible caddy. I found those and can use them for spare parts 😀
Now I have good odds for getting two working machine out of the five models mentioned in the thread.
