Hi all. I have a Toshiba T1000 laptop ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toshiba_T1000 ) that I'm hoping to repair the dead battery and get it booting again.

While disassembling the unit I came across a removable "Toshiba EMS Card" that seems to contradict what type of memory expansion options this machine was suppose to have.
According to wiki and other info these units shipped with 512 KB RAM and a 256 KB ROM that has DOS 2.11 built in. Main memory was suppose to be expandable to 1.2MB using a "768 kB LIM-EMS 3.2/HardRAM card"

This "Toshiba EMS Card" though has what appears to be 1.5MB from 6 x 256 KB memory chips.

Anyone know a bit more about these units and if there was another larger memory expansion module floating around? Or do I have something unusual?
